KWMBSA offers softball programs for children and youth of all ages and skills in Kitchener-Waterloo 

  • Our House League Division is our largest group with 5 divisions serving ages 4 - 19. The main objective of House League play is to teach the rules of the sport in an atmosphere emphasizing the enjoyment of recreational sport.

*Players in house league receive a team shirt and hat (included in fee). Players require a glove, long pants and running shoes (or rubber cleats).  
Please note that Novice, Mite, Squirt and Peewee players need face guards on their helmets for batting if bringing their own. 

Our Select Division is formed from interested players in our House League division who would like to experience some travel to out of town tournaments. The main focus of Select League play is to give House League players a feel for what the Rep Division has to offer without the commitment to a full season of travel.

  • Our Rep Division is our travel group with 5 divisions serving ages 8 - 18. The main focus of Rep League play is to teach the rules of the sport in an atmosphere emphasizing the competitive component of the sport.

Financial Assistance

The KW Minor Boys Softball Association (KWMBSA) is partnering with the Kitchener Sports Association (KSA) to ensure that all children residing in the Kitchener-Waterloo area are able to participate in organized softball. Please contact the KWMBSA office for details.

KSA Mandate

The Kitchener Sports Association's mandate is to support and promote local minor sports, games and athletes in the belief that "True Sportsmen Make Good Citizens".   As well as providing financial assistance to the sporting community and local charities, KSA is also committed to fostering goodwill and sportsmanship.

  • Rep Team Summary of the 2014 Season The KWMBSA fielded four rep level teams in 2014. Our rep teams entered a number of Invitational tournaments in Mitchell, Stouffvile, Stratford, Innerkip and Princeton.The U10 Mites and U12 Squirts competed in the South Oxford Minor League while the U14 Peewee and U16 Bantams played in the North Waterloo.   In NW championship tournament play the U14s and U16s both earned golds.All teams entered OASA competitions. The U14s earned a gold in the OA Eliminations while the U16s earned a silver in their Provincial Eliminations.  Provincially the Squirts scored a silver in the OA “A” division while the Peewees earned a bronze in the OA Provincial “A”. The Peewees went on to earn a second in the Eastern Canadians ...

  • U14 Kolts win Silver at Easterns The KW Kolts fell 6-4 to the Colchester Royals of Nova Scotia in the championship game of the ECSC held in St Croix, N.S. August 21-24.  The Kolts had won all their previous tournament matches including an exciting come from behind walk off 5-4 victory in the “undefeated” game with the Royals. Tin the final the Royals scored all 6 of their runs in the third to take a 6-2 lead.  The Kolts replied with singles in the 4th and 5th.  But it was not to be.  The Kolts represented our association and cities well in their gamesmanship and sportsmanship.

  • U14 Kolts Win 3rd Annual Kayla Baker Invitational Our U14 Peewee Kolts road victories over Stouffville, Georgain Bay and a 6-2 final over Shallow Lake to capture the first place medallions at the 3rd Annual Kayla Baker Invitational held at Saginaw Twin Diamonds in Cambridge on July 26. Zack  Newmaster and Dawson Schmidt provided the strong pitching while newcomer Mac Mullvey provided key offence in the championship match. Third baseman Thomas Baker received the tournament’s MVP Award. The Kolts will head to their NW league final tournament August 9 weekend again in Cambridge.

  • Kolt Teams Continue to Shine in 2014 Our U16 Bantam Kolts have qualified to represent Ontario at the Softball Canada National U16 Championships to be played in Fredericton, NB August 6-10.  The Kolts earned the silver medals at the OA Elimination tournament in Toanche earlier this month. The Kolts also stand atop the current NW Bantam division with a perfect 6-0 record in league play.  Meanwhile our U12 Squirt Kolts earned the #3 seed for the OA Provincials by virtue of their stellar play at the Squirt Qualifiers held in Clifford, July 19-20. They will compete in the OA Provincials in Belleville in mid August.  Our U10 Mite Kolts will participate in the Softball Ontario U10@Play Event hosted by the KWMBSA at Wilson ...
